We’re not a replacement for your traditional antenatal class that is run by a midwife and delves deeply into labour, birth and newborn care - although, we definitely recommend that you attend these too.
Instead, our sessions prioritise connections over pure information. While we hope you will still pick up useful insights, our focus is on building friendships, having fun and feeling supported.
Is this an antenatal class?
Why I started Pregnant As
In June 2024, I gave birth at Wellington Hospital to my gorgeous son, Felix. Since then I have been loving mum life and trying out zillions of mums-n-bubs groups, of which there are HEAPS.
But, when I was pregnant, I was desperate to meet some other expectant mums (and to rope my shyly reluctant other half into meeting some soon-to-be dads too!)
However, other than antenatal classes which happen right at the end - and don’t give you much time to actually speak to other parents - there wasn’t much in the way of groups that were fun and a gave you a chance to be social.
So, “Pregnant As” was born! A group designed to connect expecting parents and share the journey.
